About the Role

As a Resource Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Resource Director by coordinating people, plant, supply‑chain partners, and reporting activities across the HS2 project. Highly organised and proactive, you’ll help keep daily operations running smoothly, maintain strong compliance, and provide essential administrative and analytical support that underpins effective resource management.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide executive support to the Resource Director, including diary management, inbox coordination, briefing packs, agendas, minutes, and drafting communications.
- Coordinate plant resources by producing utilisation reports, tracking hired‑in plant and off‑hire activity, and supporting cost‑control reporting.
- Support supplier and subcontractor management through meeting coordination, minute‑taking, action tracking, and maintaining strong communication with partners.
- Assist with sustainability, ESG, and compliance activities, including audit evidence packs, carbon reporting, and maintaining documentation aligned with PAS 2080 and SBTi frameworks.
- Manage reporting and information systems, producing dashboards, supporting monthly reports, maintaining SharePoint structures, and updating risk registers.
- Provide general office and systems support, managing central trackers, updating SOPs and workflows, supporting staff engagement, and improving digital tools including Excel and Power BI.

- Confident communication skills with the ability to work effectively with directors, site teams, and suppliers.
- Good analytical skills with confidence working in Excel and handling resource or cost data.
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage multiple priorities.
- Solid MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) and familiarity with SharePoint/Teams.
