Our 3D Machine Control Specialists play a vital role in supporting our earthworks operations by ensuring the effective use of advanced 3D machine control technology. You will configure, calibrate and maintain machine control systems across a range of heavy plant equipment, providing technical support and troubleshooting to operators and site teams to maximise accuracy and uptime. Working closely with engineering teams, you will integrate design models into machine control.
What you’ll be doing:
- Operate and manage advanced 3D machine control systems across heavy plant equipment.
- Set up and calibrate machine control systems accurately to ensure precision on site.
- Convert and upload design files into machine control software for seamless integration.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal functionality.
- Work closely with surveyors and engineers to guarantee accurate implementation of designs.
- Deliver training and ongoing support to operators on effective use of 3D machine control technology.
- Maintain and update machine control hardware and software as required.
- Assist in creating and refining 3D models for machine control applications.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Document and report system performance, issues and resolutions in a timely manner.
- Establish site survey control and maintenance thereof.
- Establish UAV ground control markers and maintenance thereof.
- Set up GNSS base stations for survey activities.
- Report on earthworks volumes and material tracking.
- Creation of as-built survey reports (isopachytes).
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in surveying or machine control.
- Strong technical expertise in Trimble Earthworks and GNSS/total station systems.
- Technical expertise in creating 3D models for machine control (preferably TBC).
- Proven problem-solving ability under pressure to keep projects on track.
- Proactive and collaborative approach, working effectively with technical teams and operators.
