We are seeking an experienced Works Manager to lead our project delivery team at Lower Thames Crossing. You will oversee site operations, primarily focusing on bulk earthworks, and ensure the effective management of sub-contractors and staff.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leadership: Direct and lead the site based project team
  • Site Operations: Manage bulk earthworks and logistics
  • Documentation: Maintain site diaries and allocation sheets
  • Resource Management: Monitor labour and resources
  • Construction Oversight: Review drawings, develop method statements, and ensure compliance.
  • Coordination: Plan and execute work with Senior Management and Engineering teams
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Planning Assistance: Collaborate on detailed planning sessions
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to construction methods and ITPs

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience managing multiple foremen and sub-contractor gangs
  • Knowledge of material usage, machine matching, and Series 600 Specification for Highway Works
  • Effective use of GPS machine guidance
  • Ability to work to a 3-week programme
  • Understanding of quality requirements and ITP adherence
  • Professional interaction with Client representatives
  • Leadership and visibility on site
  • SMSTS qualification and CSCS Gold Card
  • Minimum 10 years in the industry, with 5 years in a supervisory role

Desirable:

  • Ability to operate plant (dumper, roller, excavator)
  • CPCS plant qualifications
  • SEATS, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid certificates
  • CSCS Black Card
  • HSG 47 Cat & Genny training
  • Temporary works supervisor
