As a Site Engineer, you will support the delivery of engineering projects by assisting with technical tasks ensuring work is carried out safely and to the required standards. You’ll help monitor progress, check compliance with quality and safety guidelines, and provide input during different stages of the project. Your role will involve working closely with the team to keep activities on track and contribute to successful project completion.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conducting GNSS-based site surveys and setting out earthworks using batter rails, travellers, and visualisation stakeouts.
  • Reviewing and validating 3D machine control models for automated earthmoving equipment.
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications, and works information to determine optimal construction methods with the Foreman.
  • Preparing and maintaining essential project documentation: Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and Checklists.
  • Managing QA processes and ensuring all checks are completed before work begins.
  • Performing spot soil quality checks, including plasticity and moisture content testing.
  • Supporting near-term rolling-wave planning to maintain project efficiency.
  • Identifying and reporting contractual events to the Commercial Team.
  • Accurately documenting verbal instructions with supporting sketches and details.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in earthworks or civil engineering, demonstrating a proven ability to deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong academic background, including at least a grade B in GCSE Mathematics and Physics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the four core principles of Civil Engineering, ensuring technical competence across all key areas.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and a genuine commitment to progressing towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
