We are seeking a highly experienced Interim Director of AI Transformation to lead a major finance transformation program within a global PE backed SaaS group. The role will focus on the design, implementation, and optimisation of AI throughout all finance and shared services functions. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring a commercially minded Transformation Director with a proven track record of delivering large-scale operating model transformation, process standardisation, and technology-enabled change. The successful candidate will partner closely with the executive team to establish a best-in-class shared services environment leveraging artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics to drive efficiency, scalability, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of an improved Shared Service Centre covering finance and related business support functions.
  • Develop and execute the transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and operational objectives.
  • Design target operating models, governance structures, service catalogues, KPIs, and service level agreements.
  • Evaluate, select, and deploy AI-driven solutions to automate transactional processes, enhance controls, and improve decision-making.
  • Drive process standardisation, simplification, and continuous improvement across finance operations.
  • Manage organisational change, stakeholder engagement, and communication programs to support successful adoption.
  • Build and lead high-performing transformation and operational teams.
  • Establish robust financial controls, compliance frameworks, and risk management processes within the SSC environment.
  • Oversee technology vendors, implementation partners, and external consultants.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, service quality, cost reduction, and business insight.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Previous experience as CFO, Finance Director, or Transformation Director within a global organisation.
  • Demonstrable success establishing or transforming Shared Service Centres, Global Business Services (GBS), or Centres of Excellence.
  • Strong understanding of AI, intelligent automation, machine learning applications, robotic process automation (RPA), and digital finance transformation.
  • Experience leading large-scale ERP and finance technology implementations.
  • Proven ability to manage significant change programmes involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent commercial, strategic, and operational leadership capabilities.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with board-level credibility.
  • Experience operating in private equity-backed, multinational, or high-growth environments is advantageous.
