Finance Contractor: Tax, FRS 102 & Audit

Location: UK (hybrid), with travel to Group offices as required

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

About our client

We’re recruiting for a fast-growing, PE-backed technology group with c.£40m revenue, Built on strong recurring Microsoft licensing and support revenues, the business has grown rapidly both organically and through acquisition. It is in an exciting phase of growth, integration and simplification.

The opportunity

Our client needs a hands-on finance contractor to work directly with the CFO on a defined set of technical projects. This is a delivery role, not a leadership or strategy one. They want someone who can get into the detail, form a view and get issues resolved without lengthy onboarding.

What you’ll be doing

• Tax and R&D: Implement tax health-check findings across the Group (corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes).
• FRS 102 technical accounting: Review Group and subsidiary policies, including recent acquisitions.
• Year-end audit: Act as a key contact for the external auditors, prepare and review audit files and disclosure notes, resolve queries quickly, and support statutory accounts across Group entities.
• Financial Controls:
• Ad hoc projects: Provide extra hands-on capacity across month-end, reporting and analysis, and flex onto priority workstreams at peak periods.

About you

• Senior finance experience in a PE-backed SME, ideally technology.
• Strong technical accounting background, including FRS 102 in a group or multi-entity setting
• Experience of corporation tax compliance and R&D tax credit claims
• A track record of managing external audit relationships and year-end statutory processes
