A PE-backed engineering group with long-term investment and clear scale-up ambitions is seeking a Head of FP&A to build and lead best-in-class planning, investor reporting and commercial partnering capability. This is a high-impact role at the centre of decision-making, working closely with the CFO, senior leadership team and investors. You will take ownership of group-wide forecasting, performance insight and long-range modelling, helping to shape strategy, support investment cases and guide operational leaders with robust commercial analysis.

The Role

  • Lead and continuously improve group budgeting, forecasting and planning processes.
  • Produce high-quality dashboards, performance analysis and forward-looking insight.
  • Own and develop robust long-term financial models to support strategic planning.
  • Deliver scenario and sensitivity analysis for investment cases and key decisions.
  • Produce investor-grade reporting packs, support fundraising activity and interface directly with PE investors.
  • Partner closely with senior operational leaders, providing commercial insight to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Own and improve data quality, and play a key role in shaping finance systems and software solutions.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to build and shape a high-quality FP&A and commercial finance function in a complex, growing organisation. You will have real influence, exposure to investors, and a mandate to improve how the business plans, analyses and makes decisions.

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong FP&A and commercial finance experience within a complex or fast-growing business.
  • Proven ability to build forecasting models, long-range plans and scenario analysis.
  • Experience producing investor-ready reporting and working with senior stakeholders.
  • A commercial mindset and the confidence to challenge and influence at leadership level.
  • High standards around data integrity, systems and analytical rigour.
  • PE-backed or scale-up experience is advantageous, but not essential.

Package

Salary up to £90,000 plus package. Full-time role, 4 days per week in the office (Peterborough).
