We are partnering with a fast-growing, private-equity-backed financial services business based in Brighton that is entering its next phase of growth. This is a newly created Financial Controller role, offering genuine ownership, board exposure, and the opportunity to help shape a best-in-class finance function.
The opportunity
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take day-to-day leadership of finance operations while acting as a key partner to the wider leadership team and PE sponsors. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in growth environments and enjoys building robust processes without slowing the business down.
Key responsibilities
- Own month-end close, management reporting, and financial control across the group
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management, ensuring clear insight for decision-making
- Strengthen financial controls, policies, and governance in a regulated environment
- Manage and develop a small, capable finance team
- Partner with auditors, tax advisers, and other external stakeholders
- Support strategic initiatives including growth investments, product expansion, and potential M&A
What we’re looking for
- ACA Qualified accountant
- Experience in financial services and/or PE-backed or high-growth businesses
- Strong technical grounding with a pragmatic, commercial mindset
- Comfortable operating at pace and dealing with change
- Clear communicator with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and investors
