Black Walnut Bakery Cafe has vaulted its way to the top of the bakery and cafe experience in London. The amazing from-scratch baking from top bakers, combined with the in-house expert roasted coffee and unmatched barista skill and service, has set Black Walnut apart from its competitors.

We are seeking a Head Baker/Kitchen Manager for our Richmond Row location, and Wortley Village location once it is finished being rebuilt. This role is very coveted and does not come around very often.

Candidates must have:

  • At least 2 years experience managing a bakery and/or kitchen.
  • An extensive knowledge of baking/pastries/cakes/cooking.
  • Expertise on various baking equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • An admirable level of professionalism and maturity.
  • A drive to give the customer an amazing experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of baked goods such as bread, pastries, and desserts.
  • Follow recipes to produce consistent results.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries as needed.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets food safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Package baked goods for sale or display.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons.
  • Lead the team to professional excellence.
  • Hire, train, onboard all new bakers.
  • Analyze business metrics.
