Blackswan Space is building time critical software products for complex missions – a cornerstone for enabling the future space economy as space traffic rapidly increases. With the help of the European Space Agency, our team is developing a novel platform for autonomous navigation for satellites, leveraging computer vision and neural networks. We are looking for naturally curious minds with a can-do practical attitude eager to satisfy their inner astronaut. If you’re keen on harnessing the current advancements in deep learning, computer vision and embedded systems to solve open problems in object detection/tracking, pose estimation, and real-time navigation in space, while also having a knack for working with real hardware, we would love to hear from you!

As an instrumental part of our engineering team, you will:

  • Design, implement, benchmark and validate software architecture and its key elements for real-time relative navigation in space.
  • Assemble and test electromechanical hardware components.
  • Lead software verification and laboratory testing campaigns.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years developing embedded systems software.
  • Good understanding of electronics and interfacing through different protocols and connections (I2C, ETH, Serial, etc).
  • Proficiency with C and Python.
  • Proficiency with Real-time operating systems.

Nice to Haves:

  • Previous experience working in the space industry.
  • Hands-on experience with cameras, inertial sensors and/or real-time processing units.
  • Familiarity with Jetson SBCs and CPU/GPU architectures in general, numeric libraries.
  • Experience with Deep Learning and computer vision libraries such as OpenCV.
