Role Overview: BXMA designs commingled and customized investment solutions to help institutional investors achieve strong, risk-adjusted performance across asset classes and strategies. Our AI & Quantitative Analytics team sits at the intersection of our investment, operational, and technology functions. We partner with investment, portfolio management, risk, operations, legal, and technology teams to:
- Design scalable analytical solutions that support teams across the business, facilitate adoption of ML/LLM based workflows, and help define our broader AI and data strategy.
- Partner with our in-house technology teams to help define the development roadmaps for internal and 3rd Party services, ensuring that our business and technological development are operating in tandem.
- Onboard and govern high‑value data (structured and unstructured), alongside our Data Management team.
- Develop a deep understanding of our business across all Investment and operational functions, allowing for solutions tailored to each team to be built.
- Knowledge-share across the business via mentorship, training, and live demos to ensure best practices proliferate across teams as new solutions are developed.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the evolving AI market landscape, enterprise level 3rd party application, and monitor LLM model development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate open‑ended questions into analytical workstreams; utilizing LLMs, Python, SQL, and more to automate and enhance our analytical capabilities.
- Work alongside our technology team to design scalable data pipelines, including transformations and data enrichment, for use in ML/LLM workflows.
- Document business requirements and produce user‑centric process maps and solution designs that effectively communicate technical requirements to both senior stakeholders and technology teams.
- Engage with our internal users across the business, monitoring project delivery and adoption of new tools.
- Assist with the onboarding of new 3rd Party data vendors, helping users to extract the most value from new applications on our platform.
- Contribute to cross‑training and knowledge sharing (Python/SQL/Copilot/etc.) to elevate capabilities across the firm.
- Maintain strong domain expertise across the Absolute Return, Total Portfolio Management, and Multi-Strategy Investing business lines, understanding our Investments and how we manage our operational platform.
- Develop analytics and insights using internal/external data to produce internal reporting and help drive strategic decision making.
Qualifications: Blackstone seeks individuals who are highly motivated, intellectually curious, and have a track record of excellence. The ideal candidate will bring:
- 2-7 years of relevant analytical experience (preferably within investment banking, asset management, alternatives, etc.).
- Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in STEM, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Experience utilizing LLMs and AI tools in an enterprise context (e.g. Microsoft Copilot).
- Strong quantitative and coding skills (Python / R / SQL etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills, any experience with VBA/Power Query is a plus.
- Familiarity with data engineering, data analytics, and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau / Snowflake / AWS / Sigma) would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge on fund economics, direct trading investments, and investor reporting across public and private markets (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Sound judgment, confidence, and the ability to work independently on ad hoc projects.
