Blackstone Recruitment is working with a Further Education college that is recruiting a Senior Curriculum Manager to join their campus based in East London/ Essex. This is a Temp contract job to start ASAP. Job Summary Looking for someone with lots of experience of managing support in SEND. They also need experience of post-16, ALS and need to be a strong, experienced manager. • To have responsibility for courses and defined operational issues within the Directorate • To carry out line-management duties i.e. performance development review process, observations, budget control • To teach between (Apply online only) hours per annum excluding occasional cover for cancelled classes, subject to operational demands agreed with your line manager and the specific responsibilities of the post. • To teach at other campus as and when required • To deputise for the Group Curriculum Director as necessary • To be part of the Safeguarding team Job Specifics Rate: £35 - £40 per hour Working Hours: 5 days per week Contract Type: Temporary Location: Hornchurch, Essex Essential Requirements: 1. Possession of a degree or appropriate professional qualification and hold, or be working towards, a recognised teaching qualification; 2. Wide ranging teaching experience in a related subject (Biology is desirable) 3. Ability to develop and maintain links with education providers and employers; 4. Ability to select, manage and develop staff; 5. An understanding of the key national and local issues affecting participation and achievement in post-16 education; 6. Experience of curriculum development within the Programme area and ideas for implementing programme development within an environment of change; 7. An ability to set and monitor high standards of teaching and learning, and an understanding of quality principles and practices in Further Education, with the ability to set and monitor performance targets; 8. A high level of written and oral communication skills; 9. Proven organisational skills including an ability to work to deadlines and to use a range of software packages; 10. An understanding of and commitment to Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding and practical ideas for their implementation in this post.
