We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to join a specialist Further Education college supporting young people aged 16–25 with a range of additional and complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, helping learners develop independence, communication skills and preparation for adult life.

  • Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
  • Autism
  • Complex communication needs

  • SEMH presentations

The provision delivers a highly personalised curriculum focused on developing life skills, independence and meaningful outcomes for young adults.

Role Details

  • £40–£50 per hour (depending on experience)
  • 3–4 days per week
  • Hybrid working available
  • 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Permanent or Temp-to-Perm options available
  • Start date: ASAP or September
  • Supportive multidisciplinary therapy environment

The Role

You will work closely with education staff, therapists and families to assess and deliver occupational therapy interventions that enable learners to access education, develop functional life skills and achieve greater independence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting occupational therapy assessments
  • Developing and reviewing intervention plans
  • Supporting sensory regulation and engagement in learning
  • Providing recommendations for environmental adaptations and specialist equipment
  • Contributing to EHCP outcomes and annual reviews
  • Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Ideal Experience

We welcome applications from Occupational Therapists with experience in:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Autism
  • SEMH needs
  • Education settings
  • Community or specialist services

Sensory Integration experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
