The Education Centre is currently looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for our school. You will support the Class Teacher with all elements of the day-to-day running of the class and teach whole classes, groups, and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher on a regular basis across a range of classes. You will also run interventions in groups and 1:1.
This School will be opening as a new school in the summer of 2025. At this time, the Education Centre will join this registration and become a satellite of the School. As one school, both sites will share the same Leadership, Admin, Therapy, and Teaching teams. Students will have access to the same curriculum, opportunities, and resources across both sites.

Key Duties:
Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
- Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.
- Monitor pupils' conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult, or very challenging issues and keep records of incidents, health, behaviour etc. as necessary.
- Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
- Work with pupils on therapy or care programmes, designed and supervised by a therapist/care professional during timetabled sessions.
Supporting Teaching and Learning
- To lead in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school.
- Assist the Class Teacher with carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Know and understand the Class Teacher's curriculum planning and plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individual, small groups, and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.
- Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
- Take an active role in key areas of responsibility across the school including displays and organising resources.
- Develop and implement individual plans for pupils (such as the educational elements in an EHCP), including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews if requested.
Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the team when required.
Responsibilities:
- The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrate equivalent skill level.
- GCSE pass above C grade 4 in English and Maths.
