Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for SEN Higher Level teaching Assistant. Please see details below for the full job advert: Location: Surrey Salary: £27,713 – £30,250 dependant on qualifications Plus £2000 Welcome bonus For HLTA with SEN Experience* Hours: 40 hours per week – Term Time only – Start time 8.15am – Finish time Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4.45pm. Thursday 5pm and Friday 4pm The role: They’re looking to recruit a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be supporting the teacher within the class. Experience: Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following: * Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT. * Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships and attitudes. * Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult or very challenging issues and to keep records of incidents, health, behaviour etc. as necessary. * To lead in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school. * Assist the Class Teacher with carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the Professional Standards for Teachers. * Know and understand the Class Teacher’s curriculum planning and to plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individual, small groups and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision. * To provide high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through teaching a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning. * Develop and implement individual plans for pupils (such as the educational elements in an EHCP), including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews if requested. Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required. Skills & Qualifications: Successful candidate qualities: * GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential. * The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification or demonstrate equivalent skill level.
