Job Details: Job Title: Head of Therapy Salary: £47,810 to £58,487 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week (working 5 days out of 7) Job Summary: * To manage a high calibre Therapy Service and manage clinical responsibilities to adult service users with complex neurological conditions, neurological impairments, psychological issues and associated physical disabilities. * Reporting to the Hospital Director, you will play a lead role in achieving the organisation’s vision of becoming a leading care provider, working as part of an integrated team and taking lead responsibility for the strategic and corporate matters of the Hospital’s Therapy function. * You will work as part of a dynamic senior leadership team delivering an effective service supporting multiple registered services, care pathways and the central service function. You will bring an excellent range of managerial and clinical experience to oversee our established and growing service. You will ensure therapy services are delivered using best practice guidelines and in-line with the HCPC and recognised professional standards. Key Responsibilities: * Responsible for developing and delivering the strategy for Therapy Service and providing strategic leadership to Therapy staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of patients and referring agencies. * Responsible for providing professional and clinical leadership to all the Therapy staff and for providing professional advice and recommendations to the Hospital and key external agencies. * Lead the Hospital’s highly skilled Therapy functions, including developing and managing plans and actions, producing progress reports and updates as and when required. * Responsible for producing business plans/business cases to support development within Therapy Services. * Responsible for managing the business activities and performance targets of Therapy Services to ensure delivery of its strategic and operational objectives in line with the annual Budget and Operational Delivery Plan and accountability framework. * Overall responsibility for the management of all Therapy services staff and physical resources. * Participate in the development of policies, procedures and SOPs as required for the function * Have a strong clinical background and maintain a clinical remit dependent on your skill set * Be an innovator, an educator and a mentor who provides robust representation for therapy services within the Senior Management team and the Hospital. * Be responsible for developing and implementing standards across Therapy Services which support professional leadership, competence, capacity and standards of conduct. * Working with senior management, to define and implement new ways of working to maximise the benefits to deliver gains in cost and clinical effectiveness and efficiency. * To collate appropriate clinical data, in line with UKROC data collection expectations, CQC regulations, and to undertake audits to provide assurance that all therapy services are fit for purpose and delivering quality interventions with measurable quality outcomes. * To comply with group organisational standards, policies and procedures. Essential Criteria: * Be a therapist with current HCPC or professional registration * Full understanding of NHS England/CCG commissioning arrangements and developments.
