Location: Bexley Council (Typically 2 days in the office per week but varies week on week)
Start date: 10th August
Contract: 26 weeks minimum
Hours: 36 hours per week
Salary: £700 – 800 per day
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for 5 members of staff.
- Leading and implementing the business partnering function for the service area.
- Acting as a partner with the service leadership teams to develop, challenge and support service plans and project delivery.
- Managing and reporting on operational performance for the business partnering team.
- Ensuring the provision of an effective Business Partnering function that challenges the status quo and works in partnership with services to develop new delivery models.
- Delivering significant cost savings and maximising outcomes for residents.
- Ensuring finance staff deliver to customers efficiently within a professional business framework.
- Providing expertise and high-quality financial services to senior stakeholders.
- Contributing to the achievement of the finance service’s vision and fostering a culture of innovation, high performance, and continuous improvement.
- Discharging Section 151 responsibilities and leading by example to build a sustainable, high-effective service.
- Supporting the council’s leadership at all levels and developing a strategic response to financial challenges.
The post holder will have a body of theoretical and practical knowledge commensurate with a fully qualified accountant, with a CCAB or equivalent qualification.
