This school is opening its doors in Autumn 2026, and we’re looking for an experienced SENCO to help make this vision a reality. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative.

This school will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 120 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.

The role:

As SENCO, you’ll play a central role in shaping our SEND provision and ensuring every pupil’s EHCP outcomes are delivered and tracked. Working closely with the Headteacher, you’ll oversee interventions, staff training, and the development of strategies that make a real difference to our learners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing referrals and the pre-admission process in partnership with our Business Development team and families.
  • Leading on SEND policy and provision, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Coordinating and deploying resources, staff, and therapies to meet individual needs.
  • Preparing for and participating in annual reviews and case conferences.
  • Driving best practice through CPD, mentoring, and coaching staff.
  • Supporting the Headteacher with strategic development and school improvement plans.

This is a leadership role where you’ll influence the culture and success of our school from day one. Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the school when required.

About You:

We’re looking for someone with the passion and expertise to lead SEND provision and inspire others. You’ll have:

Essential Qualifications:

  • QTS or equivalent.

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ effective experience as a SENCO, ideally in an SEN environment.
  • Leadership of a significant area or phase or inclusion, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole school.
  • Effective team management and collaborative working.
  • Strong communication skills across a range of audiences and mediums.
  • Successful management of complex scenarios and conflict resolution.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a range of external agencies.
