Position will be based in London or Dublin depending on the candidate’s location and preference and will primarily support BXCI’s Liquid Credit Strategies (“LCS”) business; the position will also support BXCI’s Private Corporate Credit (“PCS”) and Infrastructure and Asset Based Credit (“IABC”) businesses.

With respect to LCS, assist and advise investment professionals with respect to:

• Structuring, negotiating, documenting and facilitating the execution of EU CLO warehouses and the issuance, refinancing/reset and redemption of EU CLOs;
• Negotiating and documenting investment management agreements for new SMAs and UCITS;
• Restructurings and liability management transactions of existing investments;
• Investments in externally managed EU CLOs;
• On-going matters with respect to the foregoing.

With respect to PCS and IABC, assist and advise investment professionals in structuring, negotiating, and facilitating originated investments and related investment management considerations, primarily in the UK, EU and EMEA.

Provide advice regarding regulatory matters, including EU Securitization Regulation and US Risk Retention rules, Adviser’s Act and Investment Company Act rules, AIFMD, and other UK and EU regulations, in each case in conjunction with external counsel and compliance.

Support various business groups in LCS, PCS and IABC, including origination, portfolio management and investing teams, corporate bond strategies, institutional client services, and global fund accounting, tax, operational, risk, technology and middle office teams.

Work on corporate projects, including private capital formation and public capital fundraising transactions, operational matters, regulatory matters, investor relations issues, new product launches and new business initiatives.

Work with capital formation team on asset-backed financing and liquidity facilities for BXCI funds.

Assist in the updating and maintenance of the firm’s policies and procedures, corporate governance documents and files and research/regulatory library and filings.

Assist in a variety of day-to-day matters faced by in-house legal group related to large, dynamic global business.

Qualifications: Blackstone is seeking an attorney with 3+ years’ PQE experience in either leveraged finance, structured finance, restructuring, capital markets or M&A to do challenging work in a dynamic environment. The attorney would be a part of a highly collaborative legal and compliance group focused on Blackstone Credit & Insurance and would interact closely with the firm’s investment teams. Ability to be proactive in new situations, and to manage projects and third parties, including outside counsel, is important. Must be willing to roll up sleeves and work with a variety of personalities. Must be a strong and independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have confidence, a conscientious work ethic and a tolerance for ambiguity.
