Visual Content Creator (Northampton)

The Role

As our Visual Content Creator, you will be responsible for capturing, editing, and producing world-class video and photographic content that inspires musicians and drives global demand for our products. Your work will enhance our brand’s visibility, desirability, and engagement across digital, social, and print platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Video Production

• Capture, produce, and edit high-quality video content for full-length features, social media, digital ads, website graphics, and print collateral.
• Work closely with the creative and marketing teams to storyboard, shoot, and edit compelling brand and product videos.
• Record and produce audio to ensure that Blackstar products sound best-in-class in all video content.
• Direct and execute video shoots, ensuring all footage aligns with Blackstar’s brand vision.
• Shoot on location at gigs, festivals, and events to capture artists, influencers, and real-world product use.
• Set up and manage and maintain all production equipment, including cameras, microphones, and lighting rigs.
• Add graphics, closed captioning, and special effects to elevate content quality.
• Edit existing content into high-impact reels for advertising and social engagement.

• Produce aspirational product and lifestyle photography that enhances Blackstar’s global brand image.
• Capture still images of Blackstar products against white backgrounds for eCommerce and marketing use.
• Direct and shoot on-location artist and influencer photoshoots to showcase Blackstar gear in action.
• Arrange locations, sets, and props to create dynamic and engaging visual storytelling.
• Maintain a consistent visual style and brand identity across all photography in line with our brand guidelines.

• Stay up to date with trends in visual media, video content, and photography to continually push creative boundaries.
• Plan and manage shoot schedules, coordinating with artists, demonstrators, and marketing teams.
• Liaise with the artist relations team to arrange shoots with our world-class musicians.
• Contribute creatively to improving and evolving Blackstar’s visual identity.
• Maintain the Blackstar studio, keeping all equipment in top condition and the workspace clean and efficient.

Who You Are

• A highly creative individual with a passion for videography, photography, and music.
• Experienced in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut) and colour correction tools.
• Skilled in photography, with expertise in both studio and natural light shooting.
• Comfortable directing shoots, working with artists, and making creative decisions on the fly.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledgeable about Blackstar products and the guitar industry (preferred but not essential).
• Adaptable, self-motivated, and willing to travel for shoots and events.

Skills & Experience

• Essential:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in video and photography production.
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
• Strong understanding of sound recording and production for video content.
• Experience shooting and editing still images for commercial and eCommerce use.
• Excellent storytelling ability through visual media.

• Experience in the music industry or guitar-related content creation.
• Motion graphics and animation skills.
• Understanding of social media trends and content performance metrics.
• Background in marketing or digital branding.

Location: Northampton, UK

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Flexibility required for shoots, including weekends and evenings.
