An exciting opportunity has become available for an Optometrist to join a long-established independent practice in Whitehaven. Following the recent retirement of the previous owner, the practice has entered an exciting new chapter under new ownership, with plans to modernise while maintaining the outstanding patient care it has built its reputation on over the past 26 years.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist who enjoys working in a genuinely patient-focused environment, where clinical freedom, longer appointment times, and professional development are valued.
The Role
- You'll become part of a friendly and experienced team caring for a loyal patient base.
- Due to the eye health needs of the local community, you'll enjoy a varied and clinically rewarding caseload, with the opportunity to develop your skills further.
- The practice is equipped with Optomap and OCT, and the support team is fully trained to carry out OCT imaging and visual field testing before patients enter the consulting room, allowing you to focus entirely on delivering the highest standard of clinical care.
What's on Offer
- Salary up to Β£70,000 depending on experience.
- 3.5 days per week with a healthy work-life balance.
- Shared Saturday morning rota with flexibility.
- 40-minute sight tests, with 30-minute appointments for children and contact lens aftercare.
- Around 11 patients per day, allowing plenty of time with each patient.
- A varied clinical workload including post-cataract care and more complex eye health cases.
- Support and funding for further qualifications, including glaucoma training and additional professional development.
- A welcoming, supportive team within a well-respected independent practice.
