The UX Engineering team is dedicated to enhancing user experiences across Aladdin applications. This team is part of the Channels & Experience division and focuses on implementing UX and Visual Design specifications across the Aladdin Experience Framework (AXF), a suite of reusable web, mobile and desktop tooling, including the Aladdin Design System. UX Engineers are responsible for building and enhancing our products using modern technologies to build reusable, accessible and scalable tools across various platforms to enable developers to build applications that are a joy to use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the Aladdin Design System to ensure consistency across all platforms.
  • Maintain and enhance other web/desktop/mobile products within the Aladdin Experience Framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-region teams to design and develop modern web applications.
  • Ensure all implementations comply with visual, user experience and web accessibility standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in routine releases of software developed by the team.
  • Provide routine technical support to stakeholder teams and other developers that leverage our technology to build their applications.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in user experience and web development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a related field, or other relevant qualification.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience as an engineer.
  • Proven experience in modern web technologies.
  • Required: Angular, React, HTML, SASS, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, web components.
  • Nice to have: StencilJS or other web-component technologies, Cypress, NX, Lerna or other repository management tools, familiarity with ag-grid, Highcharts and other 3rd party visualization libraries.
  • Proficient in software developer tools and IDEs: Git and version control management, IDEs e.g. VS Code.
  • Basic understanding of user experience guidelines and best practices.
  • Knowledge of design systems and accessibility standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with automated testing.
  • Ability to review and provide constructive feedback on pull requests.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills especially for a global team that operates across many time zones.
  • Strong ability to balance working independently with collaborating.
  • Willingness to learn new skills/technologies to improve user and developer experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of responsive design.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques.
  • Basic understanding of generative AI concepts, tools for productivity and common use cases/applications.
