Our Investment Accounting Group provides accounting and regulatory data services to insurance clients, including reconciliation, asset tracking, accounting, and oversight of monthly and regulatory schedules.
The Role: Responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and reporting services related to our clients' derivative assets. Focus on delivering value to clients by supporting monthly accounting closes, leading initiatives, and improving processes and controls using capabilities across BlackRock. There are opportunities for professional growth within the group or into other teams across BlackRock. Our services also offer opportunities for ongoing learning about product types, accounting complexities, and technical skills.
- Develop knowledge of BlackRock's capabilities, products, and services for insurance companies.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes and new accounting standards to ensure compliance across multiple accounting bases (IFRS, US Statutory, US GAAP).
- Support business growth, new client onboarding, and client retention within the insurance sector, collaborating with other BlackRock teams.
- Represent accounting on cross-functional projects to achieve business and client objectives.
- Enhance investment reporting processes to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and incorporate business and product changes.
- Work with vendors to prioritize development needs and ensure timely completion.
- Provide expert support during client meetings and calls regarding accounting matters.
- Conduct training sessions for the Investment Accounting Team.
- Review quarterly regulatory reconciliations and assist with audits by evaluating results and recommending control improvements.
Experience Required: Minimum of 6 years of experience in investments/markets with a solid understanding of investment accounting. Knowledge of insurance and investment companies, including relevant regulatory and accounting standards. Experience with operational improvements and control enhancements. Familiarity with derivative financial instruments, reporting, and disclosures.
