Are you able to work from the comfort of your own home to support a person with care and support needs? Then we could have the perfect opportunity for you! The Shared Lives Service helps anyone with additional needs, which could include mental health issues, learning disabilities, dementia or age-related problems, as well as young people leaving care and needing support to become independent.
You could support someone from the age of 16 upwards with varying levels of need who may just require support around finances and developing positive relationships, or someone who requires a wider range of support with personal care and medication, or anything in between.
Your commitment can be flexible to fit in with your lifestyle. Even if you currently work from home, travel to work, or are not currently working, you could be matched with someone and receive a paid allowance of between £374.91 to £572.97 per week depending on the level of support you are required to provide. Day support is currently paid at £12.60 per hour, usually in 6-hour sessions.
You would go through a thorough assessment process, and your skills, abilities, and level of support you could offer would be matched with the person with whom you would be able to share your interests and lifestyle.
If you can offer anything from a few hours a day, a couple of nights for a short break, or a longer-term placement, then we are actively recruiting carers and it would be great to hear from you.
