Fylde Council is looking for a motivated Health & Wellbeing Officer to join our Communities team and help improve the health and wellbeing of residents across the borough. This is a hands-on, community-focused role delivering a tier 2 adult weight management service and supporting people to make lasting lifestyle changes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver structured weight management programmes for adults (18+)
- Support individuals to lose weight and increase physical activity
- Lead engaging group sessions using behaviour change and motivational techniques
- Signpost residents to local physical activity opportunities
- Develop and promote health initiatives across the borough
- Support events and wider community wellbeing activities
- Produce content for social media, website and promotional materials
What we’re looking for:
- Experience delivering weight management or physical activity programmes
- Knowledge of behaviour change and motivational interviewing
- Relevant qualification in weight management, nutrition or physical activity
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working evenings and weekends
