Blackpool Coastal Housing manages almost 5,000 social housing properties across Blackpool, providing related services to its tenant and leasehold customers and regenerating areas to create opportunities for our local residents to thrive. We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Responsive Repairs Team, within the Operations Department as a Joiner with Multi-Skills.
The successful applicant will undertake a wide range of duties whilst providing a responsive repair, maintenance and voids service to residential properties within Blackpool. BCH prides itself on providing excellent customer service and our teams of exceptional Operatives have a positive attitude and can-do approach that is second to none when it comes to satisfactorily meeting customer needs.
To join the team, you must possess an NVQ Level 2 construction trade skill certificate (or equivalent) in Joinery, along with experience of carrying out multi-skilling work, including tiling, patch plastering and plumbing. The ability to carry out skills outside of your specific trade area is necessary and these are detailed in the skills matrix within the Person Specification.
Excellent communication skills along with a sound knowledge of Health and Safety are essential. You will also have the ability to work as part of a team and possess accomplished organisational skills to plan and prioritise workload, working to deadlines and agreed targets. Experience of working with Housing Associations and managing repairs is desirable.
You must hold a full, current driving licence, as a company van is provided (for travel to and from work and for use during work hours only). Please note, a satisfactory Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly known as CRB) is required for this position.
Makita power tools are supplied by BCH, however you must have your own hand tools. PDA and personal safety device supplied, (with BCH supplying the necessary training on the use of these devices).
