Role is based in Hyndburn & Rossendale. Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an ICB funded programme, available nationally, which offers around 12 months of supported employment to eligible participants to help them find or stay in work.

With on‑the‑job training, becoming an IPS Employment Specialist offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference and support those with long‑term health conditions and/or barriers to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IPS employment support to clients in town centre offices and across the community, including travel across the local area and visits to local employers.
  • Build strong relationships with local employers using email, phone and face‑to‑face methods.
  • Deliver holistic, person‑centred support to clients with SMI or other barriers, help secure suitable paid employment aligned to clients' preferences.
  • Coordinate a caseload of clients, working with referral agencies and integrated teams.
  • Provide on‑the‑job training and support, help clients with necessary adjustments and working patterns to maintain sustainable employment.

Qualifications

  • Have a Level 3 in IAG or equivalent, or have a minimum of 2 years demonstrable experience providing employment support, advice and guidance.
  • Must have strong persuasive communication skills, excellent time management and organisational and administrative skills.
  • Access to a vehicle is essential.
