Contract Type: Temporary until 30/11/2026
Contract Hours: 18.5 per week
Salary: NJC Grade E, scp 12-17 £28,598 – £31,022 per annum (pro-rata)
This post is open to employees currently On Notice/At Risk and Internal. Please note applications from On Notice/At Risk employees will be given priority. Responsibilities
- Work within the Council\’s Client Finances Team within Revenues, Benefits & Customer Services.
- Provide support to people who lack capacity to manage their own financial affairs, including acting as DWP Corporate Appointee and Court of Protection Deputy so that a person\\\’s finances can be managed appropriately on their behalf.
- Work across multiple IT and banking systems, open bank accounts, claim and maintain benefits, pay bills, deal with correspondence and ensure that service users have access to money for day-to-day expenses.
- Collaborate with social workers, care providers and external agencies such as the Department for Work and Pensions; apply a person-centred approach to ensure a person\\\’s best interests are at the heart of every decision.
- Be confident, enthusiastic and have good time management skills to work in a busy environment supporting people in vulnerable circumstances.
Qualifications and Skills
- Good understanding of the guidance and legislation relating to DWP Corporate Appointeeship and Court of Protection Deputyships.
- Working knowledge of the benefits system is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage a busy personal caseload, meet deadlines and work as part of a team.
