Overview: Blackpool Council is seeking to recruit an additional Business Intelligence Officer to join our Business Intelligence Team.

Role Purpose: The role will provide data and analytics support for an innovative, multi-agency project, funded by the Youth Futures Foundation (YFF) Connected Futures Fund, aimed at reducing high levels of youth unemployment in Blackpool and improving how young people are supported to progress into Education, Training and Employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide data and analytics support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support end users in utilizing available data effectively.
  • Analyze business problems and present results meaningfully.

Qualifications and Skills: We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, good attention to detail, and experience in querying, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets. An understanding of local government and particularly Children’s Services is desirable.

Working Arrangements: The post offers hybrid working, partly from home and partly in the office. Successful candidates will require a flexible approach to these working arrangements. Requests for part-time working patterns or job share will be considered.

Interview Details: Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place in Blackpool at 1 Bickerstaffe Square. This post requires access to PSN (Public Services Network) services or networks, and the successful post holder will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions through Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). This post is also subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications, and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
