The Elective Home Education (EHE) team in Blackpool seeks an experienced family support worker to work with families and individuals on the EHE register. The selected professional will:

  • Support families in returning their children to mainstream schools and challenge unsuitable educational provision.
  • Lead the school attendance process and prepare case notes and statements for use in court where appropriate.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills and direct engagement with families.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working with families in an education or support setting.
  • Substantial knowledge of school attendance policy and legal processes.
  • Strong communication and case documentation skills.
  • Safeguarding awareness and commitment to child and vulnerable adult welfare.
  • Completed DBS check, reference history, right to work evidence, and medical clearance.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in a local authority education role.
  • Qualifications in education/child welfare or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle court-related case work.
