The Elective Home Education (EHE) team in Blackpool seeks an experienced family support worker to work with families and individuals on the EHE register. The selected professional will:
- Support families in returning their children to mainstream schools and challenge unsuitable educational provision.
- Lead the school attendance process and prepare case notes and statements for use in court where appropriate.
- Maintain excellent communication skills and direct engagement with families.
Essential Criteria
- Experience working with families in an education or support setting.
- Substantial knowledge of school attendance policy and legal processes.
- Strong communication and case documentation skills.
- Safeguarding awareness and commitment to child and vulnerable adult welfare.
- Completed DBS check, reference history, right to work evidence, and medical clearance.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a local authority education role.
- Qualifications in education/child welfare or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to handle court-related case work.
