About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic support worker to join the specialist Autism Team in Blackpool. This is a growing team made up of five qualified Social Workers, one Case Assessor and four Support Workers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with team colleagues and other agencies including police, probation, care providers, health colleagues and services within Blackpool Council.
  • Work with adults identified as autistic and provide support to families and informal carers of autistic adults.
  • Assist in the assessment of needs and support of autistic adults.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Reference history of at least two years.
  • Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications and proof of Right to Work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
  • Exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and amendments to the exemptions order (certain offences are ‘protected’ and do not need to be disclosed).
