We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Deputy Team Manager role. This role would ideally suit an experienced Social Worker who is aware and operating at the level of H2 and who is seeking experience and knowledge to develop in their career pathway.

The role will challenge you in terms of its pace, variety and level of crisis intervention work. It will also require you to manage complex case work while supporting the development of new staff and new ways of working. With the roll out of the integration agenda and the introduction of new practice models you will need to be accepting of change and able to motivate and encourage staff to embrace change.

Please consider if you are able to work at pace, are an excellent communicator and negotiator, and can work collaboratively in a multi‑disciplinary setting to secure the best possible outcomes for people. We provide good support to staff and can offer you the same support from a management perspective to help you gain confidence and experience.

Blackpool Council offer

  • A competitive salary offer for successful candidates who are recruited from the same or similar role may be eligible for a salary match within the above salary banding.
  • A hybrid and flexible working approach
  • Regular support via professional supervision
  • Practice development support and opportunities for your CPD
  • Social Work England registration fee is paid
  • 26 days’ annual leave (rising to 28 after 5 years and 32 days after 10 years) and the option to buy an additional 5 days on top of that, via a salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Blackpool Council Staff benefit scheme: Social Work Benefits and Diversity
  • Employee Assistance Programme, to support you through challenging times e.g. with free counselling, financial or legal advice
