REPORTS TO: Team Leader

DEFINITION: To consistently provide high-quality, professional, and courteous service to guests, ensuring a positive and supportive experience at all times. To contribute to the achievement of key objectives through accurate handling of tasks, effective communication, and maintaining high standards of organisation and presentation in all areas of responsibility.

Job Purpose: To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across all areas of Blackpool Tower, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for guests and staff at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out daily cleaning of all public and staff areas, including exhibition spaces and attractions, toilets and washroom facilities, staff areas, offices, and break rooms, entrances and queuing areas.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard and in line with company procedures.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Conduct routine checks throughout shifts to maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Respond promptly to spillages, hazards, or cleaning requests.
  • Dispose of waste correctly and maintain recycling practices where applicable.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns to management.
  • Support deep cleaning tasks and periodic cleaning schedules.

Health & Safety:

  • Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Use appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely without risk to yourself, colleagues, guests, and contractors.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free working environment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Essential: Good attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, reliable, punctual, and hardworking, basic understanding of cleaning practices.
  • Desirable: Previous cleaning experience in a visitor attraction, hotel, or similar environment, knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Working Hours: Flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Contract length: 4 months
