Job Overview
Provide leadership and management to the Primary/Intermediate Mental Health Team (PIMHT) to deliver comprehensive, high‑quality primary/intermediate mental health care to adults aged 18 and over in Blackpool. Ensure robust assessment, intervention and support in partnership with individuals, carers and other agencies. Oversee, lead and develop all appropriate mental health pathways, offer supervision, consultation and educational sessions to key stakeholders, participate in the Directorate on‑call rota, provide comprehensive reports and dashboards, and act as deputy for the head of service where appropriate.
Main Duties
- Services: Deliver effective health and social care services for individuals with primary/intermediate mental health needs.
- Leadership: Lead the integrated team, establish vision and support all staff and service users.
- Human Resources: Apply HR policies and procedures in line with organisational requirements.
- Service Development: Respond to local and national strategy, legislation changes and develop seamless pathways.
- Finance: Manage pay, non‑pay and commissioning budgets effectively.

Detailed Responsibilities
Service Provision
- Ensure referrals are managed effectively and passed to the appropriate professional.
- Allocate work across the team.

- Maintain case recording standards and audit systems.
- Commission services based on assessment needs/outcomes.
- Conduct regular reviews per organisational policies.
- Promote safeguarding and implement safeguarding processes.
- Represent the MD team in interagency meetings.
- Support and report on MDT work.
- Apply legislative, policy and strategy requirements, including court of protection applications.
Leadership
- Lead the team to achieve objectives.

Person Specification – Education and Qualification
- Training and experience in clinical management.
