Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a passionate and strategic Senior HR & PD Business Partner to join our People & Culture team. The People & Culture service is central to the Trust’s ability to attract, develop and retain a talented workforce, ensuring a positive working environment that supports both exceptional patient care and staff wellbeing.
Main duties of the job:
- Lead on strategic HR initiatives and support transformation projects across the Trust.
- Partner with business leaders to deliver workforce planning, talent management, and employee engagement strategies.
- Champion best practice in employee relations, organisational development, and equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Support the implementation of national and local workforce policies.
Person specification:
Education and Qualification:
- MCIPD qualification and membership.
- Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Experience of working in a senior HR capacity.
- Evidence of CPD.
- Knowledge and experience of Agenda for Change terms and Conditions.
Skills and Ability:
- Ability to build effective and trusting business partnering relationships.
- Credible leader with the ability to engage staff at all levels and across disciplines.
- Excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills to establish good working relationships with leaders, colleagues and external organisations.

Experience and Knowledge:
- Demonstrable and extensive HR experience in a business partnering role, some of which must be at senior management level.
- Knowledge of current Employment Law and developments in relation to employee relations issues.
- Significant experience of organisational change e.g. TUPE, restructure, redundancy.
- Experience of planning and delivering people initiatives, including talent management, workforce planning and performance management.
- Experience of undertaking complex investigations, writing reports.
- Experience of managing Operational HR and OD teams.
- Experience of working within a highly political and sensitive environment and has the skills to work within this.
- Knowledge and experience of medical and dental terms and conditions.
