Band 5 Staff Nurse – Gastroenterology – Ward 2 – Permanent, full time, 37.5 hrs/week. Rotational coverage includes days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high quality nursing care in a busy gastroenterology ward.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues.
  • Support student nurses and participate in mentoring and teaching programmes.
  • Attend ongoing in‑service training and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to ward management and support the smooth running of the team.

Person specification

  • Qualifications: NMC Adult Registered Nurse.
  • Willingness to undertake teaching and assessment qualifications.
  • Experience: Ability to teach peers within the clinical area.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Experience of team and ward management (Staff or Student Nurse).
