An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Night Service Community Nursing Service. Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a large, integrated provider of acute and community services to the 445,000 population of the Fylde Coast health economy and the estimated 11 million visitors to the seaside town of Blackpool. With patients and families at the heart of all we do, we are committed to creating a culture that empowers our staff and inspires us all to deliver first‑class clinical care.
We will also provide the following to ensure your transition to a new area / team is as smooth as possible:
- Robust induction period
- Buddy/Mentor
- Preceptorship programme
- Protected supernumerary time
- Clinical 1‑to‑1 and supervision sessions with line manager
- In‑house and external training provision
Duties
The main duties of the role are to provide holistic, patient‑centred, evidence‑based care to individuals in their own home setting. This will include:
- Administration of medications
- Catheter care
- Palliative care and assessment of needs
- Syringe driver management
- Central line care
- Wound care
- Drain management
- Venous & arterial leg ulcer care
- Catheter & nephrostomy care
- Observations
- Venepuncture
