An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Blackpool Commercial Research Delivery Centre, a collaboration between Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, Booths Plc, and CURE Leukaemia. We are pleased to advertise the position of Senior CURE Leukaemia Research Nurse. The Senior Research Nurse will act as a facilitator and collaborator within a team working on research studies in haematology, with a primary focus on acute leukaemia. This established role within the department involves working with our partners to ensure patients have access to the most up-to-date clinical trials in leukaemia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop risk assessments, policies, and standard operating procedures for the Research & Development division and Clinical Research Centre, in collaboration with the Clinical Research Nurse Manager and senior research nurse colleagues.
  • Oversee and lead in ensuring clinical quality and safety adherence for research conducted at the Trust, including internal monitoring, inspections, safety alerts, and management of electronic medical records.
  • Support 7-day working across the department to facilitate recruitment to clinical trials.
  • Assist the R&D team in project and change management.
  • Support the R&D Management team in developing and maintaining the research nurse infrastructure to promote patient recruitment to clinical trials, including NIHR portfolio studies and commercial research.
  • Identify and plan service requirements in consultation with stakeholders and senior management.
  • Ensure the availability of supplies to support the efficient running of the service.
  • Manage expenditure within budget constraints in collaboration with the R&D senior management team.

This post is initially funded by Booths Plc and CURE Leukaemia for a fixed three-year term, offering a pioneering role across the organisation in collaboration with our partners.
