ÂŁ33,465 to ÂŁ51,714 per annum for full time, college staff term time only. Fixed term for a period of maternity cover.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Psychology Teacher to join our Social Sciences department on a fixed-term basis for maternity cover from August 2026 to April 2027 with the possibility of extension. Roles and responsibilities:
  • Inspiring students to develop their knowledge of Psychology.
  • Planning and delivering quality first teaching to the highest standard.
  • Working collaboratively with others in the department to develop schemes of work and resources adapted to suit the needs of all students.
  • Providing academic support for students.
  • Completing assessments and marking of student work.
  • Being involved in developing enrichment opportunities for students.
  • Supporting students with their progression opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4‑9) or equivalent
  • A recognised teaching qualification/QTS/QTLS or currently working towards
  • A good degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience in a relevant industry)
  • A qualification in I.T.
Skills and experience:
  • Knowledge of the A‑Level curriculum in Psychology
  • Knowledge and experience of classroom‑based teaching
  • Successful track record of teaching observations at consistently good to outstanding
  • Ability to teach in other areas of the curriculum
  • Knowledge and/or experience of recent initiatives in teaching and learning
  • Experience of and willingness to organise and participate in educational visits and curriculum enrichment activities
  • Successful delivery to students at level 3
  • Examining experience
