An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate with specialist knowledge of tobacco control and leadership experience to join the Cumbria & Lancashire Public Health Collaborative. The Collaborative is a partnership including the Directors of Public Health and their senior teams, and NHS partner organisations with the purpose to improve health and wellbeing by working together on innovative and effective interventions and area wide public health programmes.

Working with the Lancashire & South Cumbria Public Health lead for tobacco control based at Blackpool Council, you will be responsible for the strategic co‑ordination and proactive management and delivery of the Lancashire & South Cumbria Tobacco Free Strategy. This includes ensuring equitable access to effective NHS Inpatient and Maternity tobacco addiction and treatment services and growing the work to stop people starting to smoke in the first place.

You will need to build, promote and maintain strong and effective working relationships and provide system leadership across a variety of partner organisations (statutory and voluntary, local, regional and national) to ensure that the Strategy is delivered successfully.

This post requires access to PSN (Public Services Network) services or networks and the successful post holder will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions through Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). The post is also subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
