We are seeking skilled, motivated and passionate Senior Social Workers, working with children and young people who are in our care. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of children in our care, is passionate about improving outcomes and promoting stability and belonging for our children. You should have the ability to inspire, motivate and support social workers alongside a Team Manager. Your values should reflect the Blackpool Families Rock model of practice, keeping children at the heart of everything we do.
In your role as Senior Social Worker you will be expected to support children and young people with a variety of different care plans and needs. Alongside this, you will provide support to colleagues including Social Workers in their ASYE and students.
The Supporting Our Children Service is a stable team with positive working relationships, a supportive management structure and accessible senior leadership. There is a strong emphasis on quality social work practice and making a real difference to our children’s lives.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will:
- Support children, young people, their families and carers who are allocated to you
- Ensure high-quality practice for children in our care, keeping their needs, voice and lived experience at the centre of social work practice
- Drive positive outcomes, including permanence planning and reunification where possible
- Support Newly Qualified Social Workers and Student Social Workers
- Work closely with Team Manager to support and develop staff through leading service development, reflective practice and clear guidance
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure children receive the right support at the right time
- Chair meetings where appropriate and coordinate multi-agency working
