We are looking to add a Food and Health & Safety Enforcement Officer, supporting the team, contributing to environmental health priorities across the Town. The successful applicant should embed the visions and values of the Council into their work, and endeavour to make a real difference to residents and visitors.
We seek an officer that is qualified and experienced in food safety and health & safety, to join the team with enthusiasm and motivation. They will have the opportunity to continue with their professional development whilst contributing to the food inspection programme and health and safety initiatives. Duties will include high food hygiene and food standards inspections, investigation of complaints, outbreaks and infectious disease, sampling, and taking enforcement action where necessary. They will be a team player and have a proactive approach to their work. They will have the ability to use the full remit of legislation in a fair and balanced way.
With a wide range of food businesses within the Town, this is the perfect career opportunity for the candidate.
The suitable candidate should have obtained a Degree in Environmental Health, or a Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspections, have the relevant qualifications and competencies, and experience of enforcement.
You will need a full UK driving license and access to a car while at work.

The successful applicant will be required to work outside of a 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday work pattern and will receive an additional payment on top of the quoted salary as a result.
