Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 25 hours per week - 5-hour shifts which include Saturday work, with reduced hours elsewhere in the week

Salary: NJC Grade F SCP 19-24 £32,061 - £35,412 pro rata per annum, plus 2 increments for evening/weekend working

Our children’s services team is leading the way with exciting developments to further improve the lives of children and families. The Family Hubs in Blackpool bring together a range of services for children aged 0-19 (25 with SEND), including the Best Start Family Hubs and Healthy Babies Programme.

We want a team of Family Workers to work within our hubs to offer advice and support to families on a wide range of topics; including Healthy Babies (parent‑infant mental health, infant feeding, home learning environment and parenting support) and other Family Hub services. These Family Workers will also support the planning and delivery of community based universal and targeted sessions for children under 5 and their families, and in the future for older children.

We are looking for Family Workers who are experts in engaging families and other agencies to ensure that families receive the right support, in the right place and at the right time. A background in Early Years would be an advantage to support the delivery of the community sessions and the Best Start Family Hubs and Healthy Babies offer.

This is a unique opportunity to join a supportive team who are passionate about Early Help and committed to ensuring improved outcomes for children and their families.

You’ll need:

  • A background in a Family Support role with a proven ability to work creatively with families
  • Experience of working within Early Years and a sound knowledge of child development
  • Ability to work in a dynamic way to respond to the needs of families in a timely manner when they approach the Family Hubs for support
  • Excellent communication skills and a tenacious approach to working alongside partner agencies
  • The ability to deliver high quality practice and embrace our Blackpool Families Rock approach
  • To be a reflective practitioner who embraces and promotes strengths based work

The successful applicant will be required to work outside of a 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday work pattern and will receive an additional payment on top of the quoted salary as a result.
