As Child Care Legal Team Manager, you will provide strategic leadership to a dedicated team of legal professionals, oversee the delivery of specialist childcare legal services, and maintain a personal caseload of complex and high-profile matters. You will work closely with senior officers, elected members, Social Care colleagues and external partners, providing authoritative legal advice and ensuring that the Council remains compliant with evolving legislation, case law and best practice. - Leading and managing a specialist Child Care Legal Team, including solicitors and support staff.
- Managing a personal caseload of complex childcare proceedings and legal matters.
- Providing strategic and operational legal advice to officers, Members and clients.
- Acting as an advocate for the Council where appropriate and instructing Counsel when required.
- Supporting service improvement, business planning and the maintenance of Lexcel accreditation.
- Leading, developing and motivating a high-performing legal team.
- Building effective relationships with Courts, external agencies, partner organisations and stakeholders.
