We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual for this vacancy in Adult Social Care, where hybrid working is in operation. This role sits within the Social Care Benefits Team and focuses on maximising income collection for both residential and non‑residential care debt.
Responsibilities
- Maximise income collection for residential and non‑residential care debt.
- Deal with members of the public, particularly vulnerable individuals, in line with the council’s ‘firm but fair’ debt recovery approach.
- Communicate with clients in writing, over the telephone and face‑to‑face, demonstrating excellent communication, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Provide high‑quality customer service while managing complex cases involving clients receiving care services.
- Contribute to new initiatives and help meet future demands and challenges facing the service, adapting to a variety of work situations in a demanding environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Excellent communication, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Experience or ability to communicate with vulnerable members of the public.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a demanding environment.
- Access to PSN services or networks.
- Successful completion of a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions (DBS).
- Satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications and proof of legal working status as required by law.
