About the Role β We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Highways and Traffic Management Service as a Naming, Numbering and Local Search Officer.
This important role ensures that all streets and properties within Blackpool are correctly named, numbered, and recorded, maintaining the statutory register that underpins a wide range of Council and public services. You will also provide essential information to local search companies, legal representatives, developers, and internal teams, helping to ensure the accuracy of land and highway data across the Borough.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage street naming and numbering requests from residents, developers, and partner organisations.
- Maintain statutory adoption records and geospatial databases.
- Provide accurate responses to property search enquiries (CON29).
- Support colleagues with administrative and financial duties including raising and processing orders and payments.
- Liaise with Legal Services, developers, and internal teams to ensure records are kept accurate and up-to-date.
This is a varied and rewarding role that requires accuracy, sound judgement, and good communication skills, with opportunities to develop expertise in highways and land administration. Experience of working in a busy office environment and providing excellent customer service. Strong administrative and IT skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to work collaboratively and manage your own workload to meet deadlines. Knowledge of highways legislation, geospatial databases, adoption processes, or land title records would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.
