Lecturer - Electrical in Ormskirk

The Role: Co-ordinates with College staff within the Curriculum area and College academic and corporate service units.

Teaching Commitment: To undertake 886 hours of teaching annually.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and delivery of the managed learning of students.
• Teach within the Engineering team on a range of programmes, delivering effective learning for students particularly in Electrical/Electronics at level 3 to level 6.
• Directly involved in the delivery and management of student learning within the Curriculum area.
• Fully conversant with course regulations and specifications for the defined area, ensuring conformity and best practice.
• Assist in the development and delivery of related programmes.
• Collaborate with other staff to ensure a high standard of teaching and learning.
• Assist with securing quality improvement within the Curriculum area.
• Monitor student recruitment, retention and achievement and take remedial action where necessary.
• Use effectively the systems used in the college (e-tracker, Canvas, internal verification, etc.) to ensure student success.
• Responsible for meeting recruitment targets, including participation in interviews, open days and specific curriculum events.
• Maintain an awareness of Health and Safety at all times and ensure that students are aware of safe practices and procedures.
