The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our School of Construction as a Lecturer in Construction, specialising in the delivery of T Level Construction Core content, with a particular focus on Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction.
This role offers the opportunity to inspire the next generation of construction professionals, supporting learners to develop the technical knowledge, skills and behaviours required for successful careers across the built environment sector.
The successful candidate will deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of construction programmes, with a primary focus on T Level core and occupational specialism content.
The role will involve contributing to the development and continual enhancement of curriculum provision, working closely with colleagues and industry partners to ensure programmes remain current, relevant and aligned to industry expectations.
Teaching may include areas such as:
- Construction science and principles
- Design and surveying practices
- The construction business environment
- Sustainability and environmental technologies
- Digital construction and emerging technologies
- Health, safety and welfare
- Building services engineering fundamentals
- Construction project planning and management
- Modern methods of construction
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge and a passion for developing others.
Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals with experience in:
- Teaching T Level Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction
- Delivering technical and professional construction qualifications
- Delivering Higher National Certificates (HNC) or Higher Technical Qualifications in Construction or Building Services Engineering
- Design, surveying or construction management roles within industry
- Building Services Engineering disciplines, including electrical, plumbing or mechanical services
- Quantity surveying, project management or construction consultancy
Candidates should hold a relevant degree or professional qualification and possess recent industry experience or teaching experience within Further Education, Higher Education or work-based learning.
Applicants who do not currently hold a teaching qualification but can demonstrate significant and relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply. Full support will be provided to achieve a recognised teaching qualification.
