The Role:

Blackpool and The Fylde College is currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled GCSE Maths Lecturer to join our team supporting 16 – 19‑year‑old students who are resitting their Maths qualification alongside their technical programme.

The ideal candidate will bring strong subject knowledge alongside the ability to inspire, motivate, and build confidence in learners who may feel disengaged or have experienced repeated setbacks in their maths journey.

You will create a supportive and positive learning environment, using creative teaching approaches and high‑impact strategies to help students make real progress, overcome barriers, and achieve the outcomes they need for their next steps.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • As a Lecturer in GCSE Maths, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality teaching and support to our students. Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering and managing inclusive, high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment in GCSE Maths, ensuring students are engaged, supported and challenged.
  • Supporting curriculum development and continuous quality improvement to enhance student experience and achievement.
  • Monitoring and supporting student recruitment, retention, progress and achievement, providing targeted interventions where needed.
  • Using a range of digital and face‑to‑face teaching tools and college systems (e.g. VLE, progress tracking and assessment systems) to promote student success.
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date subject knowledge and contributing to the wider academic community through professional practice, scholarship and collaboration.
