The Role
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Nautical Science Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching across a broad range of maritime subjects.
The successful candidate will teach and assess areas such as navigation, cargo operations, maritime law, shipboard business and management, shipboard operations, and ship stability, supporting cadets, apprentices and experienced seafarers in developing the professional competencies required for a career at sea.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, inclusive teaching, learning and assessment across Nautical Science programmes, ensuring high academic and professional standards.
- Support curriculum design, development and continuous improvement to meet industry requirements and best practice.
- Monitor and enhance student recruitment, retention, achievement and progression, providing tailored support where needed.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with programme regulations and awarding body standards.
- Use digital systems and learning technologies (e. g. VLE, progress tracking tools) to support student success and effective programme delivery.
